Safety measures for servo motors

May 16, 2022

1) When taking out or placing the servo motor, do not only pull the wire to drag the motor or only hold the rotating shaft.

2) Do not hit the shaft directly, such as knocking or beating, which may damage the shaft and the encoder attached to the opposite side of the shaft.

3) The load applied to the shaft core, whether in the axial direction or in the radial direction, should not exceed the range specified in the specification.

4) The structure of the shaft end of the servo motor is neither waterproof nor oil-proof. Therefore, do not use and install the servo motor in places with water droplets, oily liquids or excessive humidity, and in environments with corrosive and flammable gases.

5) Please store the servo motor in a place free from moisture, dust and harmful and corrosive gas and liquid.

6) The material of the shaft core of the servo motor does not have the ability to prevent rust. Although grease has been applied to prevent rust when leaving the factory, if the storage time exceeds six months, in order to prevent the shaft core from rusting, please check the condition of the shaft core every three months and check the Appropriate anti-rust grease should be replenished at the right time.

7) Do not store the servo motor in a place where the vibration amount exceeds the specification.

8) The storage environment of the servo motor should meet the environmental specifications stated in the manual.

9) Since the servo motor contains a precise encoder, please prepare sufficient measures to prevent electromagnetic noise interference, vibration and abnormal temperature changes.
